Joseph is a highly
motivated person, passionate about electronics and electrical
systems. He has a keen interest in control electronics, PCB
design/manufacturing, music and fishing. Holding a Bachelor of
Applied Technology (Specialising in Electro-technology) allows
Joseph to apply learned skills to process and safety equipment
repairs for Instrumatics. Joseph works in store and onsite to
complete calibration, repair and maintenance tasks. His friendly
manner will be welcomed when you speak to him with your query. |

The new look website is sleek and stylish and is full of new
features, new imagery and refreshed copy to make the site more
user-friendly and encourage user interaction. The website's new
features include a download centre for useful documents, regular
updates to news items, latest project installations. There is,
of course, updates on the latest products offered by our key

The new MC-1210 multifunction
calibrator |
 |
This multifunction calibrator provides
a feature set unmatched in high accuracy, hand-held calibrators
in its price range. The MC-1210 multi function calibrator
provides the functions and accuracy associated with
fixed-installation, laboratory instrument, and has everything
needed for virtually any calibration tasks. Measure and source
thermocouples, RTDs, current, voltage, and frequency, and source
pulse trains. A communications port compatible with both Fluke®
700 Series and Beta Calibrators pressure modules is provided, as
is an isolated mA/V read-back circuit. Arrow keys, direct
numeric keypad entry, and three software driven function
buttons, plus a large backlit, menu-driven graphics display
combine to provide a highly intuitive, simple yet powerful
operator interface. Built-in 250 Ohm resistor for HART
compatibility, compatibility with smart transmitters and PLCs
and full fuseless protection, are just some of the additional
features that make the process calibrator the single most
indispensable tool available for virtually any calibration task.

ALICAT mass flow meter used for
ballooning into space! |

Just over a year ago, Alicat Instruments donated a portable mass
flow meter with totalizer to a STEM-focused high-altitude
ballooning project called FAST: Flying Apple Space Technologies.
HAB teams commonly use weights on the ground to measure the
lifting force of the gas within the balloon, but this method is
inconvenient and inaccurate. Balloon filling must be stopped
while taking weight measurements, and this must be done indoors
to escape the constantly changing forces of shifting winds at
the launch site. Knowing that calculating the amount of lift was
simple if the amount of gas added to the balloon could be
measured, the team began looking for a solution. Alicat were
excited to be able to provide them with their solution: We
donated to the team a 1500-slpm portable mass flow meterwith
totaliser. |
